Lake Lucerne Boat Landing Construction

Lake Lucerne Boat Landing Construction – Summer 2026

The Lake Lucerne Advancement Association was recently notified by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources that the public boat landing on Lake Lucerne will be upgraded this year.

The project will include construction of a new boat landing ramp and a new parking lot with proper striping and improved layout. While this is very positive news for our lake and community, construction will take place during the summer months.

Based on the current project schedule, the boat landing will close shortly after the Memorial Day weekend and may remain closed through September 30, 2026. I have discussed the anticipated timeline with the WIDNR Project Manager, who indicated that if weather conditions cooperate and there are no contractor manpower or material delays, the closure period could be shorter than the full summer.

Recognizing the impact this closure will have on our property owners, I contacted Brett Rabideau, owner of Waters Edge, to explore options for temporary lake access. Brett has generously agreed to allow Lake Lucerne property owners—and those with shared lake easements—to use the Water’s Edge landing for boat access, dock installation and removal, repairs, and related needs during the closure period. This access will be limited strictly to Lake Lucerne property owners and shared easement holders; no public access will be permitted.

Additional details, including operating hours, parking limitations, and usage guidelines, are still being finalized. Notice of the closure will also be shared with the Forest County Sheriff’s Office and local fire protection agencies to ensure emergency response coordination.

Brett has requested that the Lake Lucerne Advancement Association manage the Water’s Edge boat landing during the closure and continue administering the Clean Boats/Clean Waters program at that location.

Please watch for additional information in the coming months. Updates will be posted on the Lake Lucerne Advancement website (www.lakelucernewi.org), on social media, and at postings located at Waters Edge.
