Reminder: Burning Permits Required
BURNING PERMITS REQUIRED

As we head into the warmer months, this is a good reminder that Wisconsin DNR burning permits are required for most outdoor burning of brush, leaves, and other yard debris in our area.
Even with a permit, conditions can change quickly. The Wisconsin DNR updates daily fire danger and burning restrictions, and it’s important to check those each day before starting any burn.
Permits are free and easy to obtain online or by phone. They are required for most debris burning but do not apply to small recreational campfires used for cooking or enjoyment. Only natural materials like brush, leaves, and untreated wood may be burned—garbage, plastics, and treated materials are not allowed.
For safety, all fires should always be attended, kept small, and fully extinguished before leaving the site.
